This course consists of four modules and is intended to guide laboratory workers through hazard identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation, and emergency response (RAMP) procedures. Topics include: Differences between hazards and risks and using the RAMP framework, applying the RAMP framework to flammable chemicals and fire risks, applying RAMP when responding to spills, and the role of human factors in increasing or decreasing risks in the laboratory. The course meets OSHA’s 29 (CFR 1910.1200) and Cal/OSHA’s (T8 CCR 5194) Hazard Communication Standards.
